This site displays my attempts at CCD imaging with a
Wedge mounted Celestron NexStar 11GPS.
An Orion ED 80 is stuck on top for wide field imaging - usually with a Meade 0.63 Focal Reducer for an even wider field.
The camera is a Starlight Xpress SXV H9C - coz I'm lazy (who wants all those filters) - used with an IDAS filter (light pollution).
Images are Guided with a Mintron 12V1-EX on the other scope. Focusing with Robofocus and FocusMax (when it works).
Most of my images are a number of 300s exposures - we have so many Hercules flying over here from Lyneham.
All capture, guiding and processing is in MaxIm/DL 4 with MaxPoint providing amazing NexStar pointing capability!
NeatImage smooths things out.
Imaging with the NexStar is proving a bit of a pain at the moment as I can't guide well enough at the resulting focal lengths. So
most of the images displayed here are with the ED80. Such a high quality scope for such little dosh! The NexStar is, at least, proving to be a great guiding platform! I have just received a new model Hyperstar from Starizona - when I get the collimation sorted I'll post some images.
